Daniel Alvarez Veizaga - Composer and pianist

He began his studies at the “María Luisa Luzio” Music School in Oruro, thanks to a scholarship and the “Fanny Salgueiro” award, he was able to move to La Paz, where he studied at the National Conservatory with teachers Sarah Ismael and Grace Rodríguez. Then he finished his Bachelor’s studies at the National University of the Arts (UNA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was a pupil of the concert performer and pedagogue Aldo Antognazzi and the composer Elena Larionow. Finally, with a scholarship from DAAD and Lions Bruchsal Schloss, he finished his Master’s studies in Karlsruhe, Germany, where he studied with Dr. h. c. Kalle Randalu.

His “Quarantine Suite” was awarded by the Cultural Foundation of the National Bank of Bolivia in its  “Ideas Creativas” call for the year 2020.

Supported by the Kunststiftung-NRW of the year 2020 to carry out a composition project on native languages for tenor and piano.

He has an intense activity in Bolivia, Argentina and Germany as a performer and composer, premiering his works at various festivals. He was selected to participate in the ” Jornadas de Música Contemporánea de Bolivia” both as a composer and as a piano player.

Winner of the II International Contest ‘Festival of“ Pianists ”in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was invited as a soloist by the Master Orchestra of the Talent Music Summer Festival in Verona, the Bolivian National Symphony Orchestra and the El Alto Symphony Orchestra.

Since 2021 he is a member of the Argentine Association of Composers.
